- With all the talk about Bill Nye, Creationism/Intelligent Design vs Science/Evolution, I felt it necessary to offer a bit of 'ambrosia' for thought, as it were... Whether one believes in Intelligent Design or not (and even whether it is true or not), I believe this is one of the most profound lectures on the discussion that I've ever heard. In this video is the very reason why the debate itself is inconsequential when considered with respect to the boundaries of human understanding. For example, would God have given us the ability to think and reason and then expected us not to make use of them? Where should human knowledge stop, if at all, and is it acceptable to just throw up our hands when we don't understand something and consign it over to God? If so, how would we have ever reached the level of human understanding that we have? If we continue to do so, even where we clearly know that our economic futures depend on new technology and discoveries within the realm of science, will we 'faith' ourselves right out of existence? The most interesting thing, to me, is the list of incredibly well-known people who we all respect and hold dear who have been guilty of this tragic lapse of wisdom. I strongly encourage all people to watch this presentation by one of the brightest minds currently on Earth and who is adept at discussing complex ideas in a way that allows access of understanding to nearly everyone. Please watch and feel free to leave comments below, since this is, potentially, one of the greatest debates in the history of the human race...and I thank you in advance for sharing your opinions, which I will not attack and which I hope others will have the human decency not to attack, as well... It is well worth your participation, since your future depends on it.
