Philosophy meets Star Wars... Quite bizarre! :oP (In French - with English subs)

Philosophy meets Star Wars... Quite bizarre! :oP (In French - with English subs) - A few weeks ago we directed you to a wonderful three-part BBC documentary about modern philosophy called Human, All Too Human, adding that we considered the chapter on Jean-Paul Sartre the most satisfying of the three. Sadly, it seems as if that is the only way to get through to the people who, through their pleasures, take all at the cost of all others ... human, plant and animal ... - The country is cracking down on polluters whose activities harm or kill others, and it's willing to impose the harshest possible penalty.

Pure Awesomeness... I wish more people would understand this. I used to support the death penalty only because it worked as a deterrent...but it no longer does so, in my humble opinion. Also, even when I supported it, I still had deep reservations about how intentionally/unintentionally the system fails. I believe a lot of the people who are angry and screaming for 'justice' actually have serious issues managing their baser emotions...and that is a personal failure. I certainly hope this video can add some productive perspective to all who take the time to watch it. Please do! ;o) (...and feel free to share your opinion in the comments below!)

This is a follow-up to my last post...about the state of things in China. It's easier to observe these things when you're sitting in the middle of them but, for those abroad, it might be more informative. I sure hope the Chinese people are paying close attention to this...not only that, but I hope they decide to take action, rather than just giving up and moving abroad. Well, at least that's what the wealthy, successful and intelligent ones seem to be doing. Not very patriotic, if you ask me. The others have little choice unless they decide to demand change from their government...but seeing how the others, who have the means to influence, are responding, I doubt that is very likely. The situation doesn't look very good for China. Once again and as I said before, I guess we'll see what happens...

Awesome news! I always felt there were other good reasons I decided to remain a patron of this company for many years. Now, they've done a really impressive thing for the benefit of human development. I certainly wish all companies were more concerned about our shared adventure in human development and less concerned with their financial gain. Good work guys! Keep it up! http://blog.trillian.im/?p=2746

Email works this way, too: Gmail users can easily send emails to Yahoo! users and so on. Instant messaging has always lacked this back end glue – what we call “interoperability” – and so w...
