I suppose this could be a wonderful thing or a terrible one... Is the future going to consist of a small number of eternal humans who use gene therapy, etc. to extend their lives and pass laws preventing new births to prevent overpopulation? Is it going to consist of a world where people are required to be 'terminated' after a certain age to make room for more people but are given a disease-free life while alive? Is this going to have any effect at all? A massive or a minimal effect? There are so many ways to consider this. Some people consider it 'playing God'. It's a lot like the 'stem cell' debate - taking life to give life - but, in this case, a life need not be given to improve another. What do you think?

Maybe, if we're lucky, communications technology will progress to the point where it is unable to be censored and/or regulated. At that point, it will be the way it should be - where those who have the capability to comprehend, utilize, manage and prioritize the data efficiently and effectively will be the ones with the upper hand. I'm sure many believe that this could also create devastating results, but I'm pretty sure that the reason we can even look forward to such a day is because there are plenty of people who are quite happy being uncensored and who have unlimited access to information that are doing the right things with that advantage - and, no doubt, those who would do otherwise are probably doing so specifically because they are censored, controlled, limited or otherwise restricted. There is also the very real argument that, given enough knowledge and freedom, any intelligent, well-educated human is going to opt for good behavior and productive creativity. There is little or no good that can come from its opposite and, more often than not, it is the bad behavior and authoritarian overbearing of others that motivates people to be destructive. I suppose we will have to wait and see. It's probably inevitable...

This is such an important perspective that the very disregard of it has the power (and has already managed) to change life as we know it. Considering this perspective not only modifies the way humans think but will eternally determine the trajectory of the human race. If there is one important thing that should be taught in school, it is critical, philosophical thought - as opposed to indoctrination and absolute value of previously discovered thought, discovery and intelligence it is critical thinking and creative thought (philosophy).

What a damned shame... If people can't win honestly and feel secure in the fact that Democracy wins in America - without pulling this kind of BS - maybe they should move to another country...because they damned sure don't make very good Americans!

What a damned shame... If people can't win honestly and feel secure in the fact that Democracy wins in America - without pulling this kind of BS - maybe they should move to another country...because they damned sure don't make very good Americans! - Tempers are flaring during early voting in Dallas County, Texas, and reports of voter intimidation are on the rise. The county’s nonpartisan election administrator said that the harassment — including name-calling and interrogating voters waiting in line — is the worst she’s seen in decades....

I'm so pleased this idiot is no longer allowed on public media, even if he still manages to show up at a Houston Trump (Or is that Cruz) rally to harass people and incite ignorance. It's no surprise that Republicans don't ban this idiot from their gatherings, since they need all the help they can get. There's even widespread evidence all over Texas of vote tampering (check your votes, people). They'll say and do anything to win - even throw all of you under the bus...but they must use you to do it, since they have no power of their own. They must leverage the power of stupidity. "When Seals Attack" I've never seen anything like this before! A seal attacked a kayaker in New Zealand and did it in the most bizarre way. It would seem that a seal would have a hard time attacking a human - but this one picked up an octopus from the seabed and literally b!tch-slapped the guy with it! 😯 Take a look:

This is neither the story of a self-made millionaire nor one of a legitimate, honest businessman and now, thanks to a portion of the country that knows little or nothing about the legal system, tax code and the nature of finance, he has his hands in the nation's cookie jar. It is the story about a family of white-collar criminals. There will not be a pleasant end to this story...(and I suspect his sister, a Federal Judge, should also face criminal prosecution). His brother has long been the targeted scapegoat, even though he has evaded prosecution and his siblings, especially DJT, are particularly to blame. You be the judge (and decide how much money the Trump family has already defrauded the US Government of over several decades).

- How did it all begin? Is there a god? Can we predict the future? Is there other intelligent life in the universe? For decades, many of us turned to Stephen Hawking for answers to those questions, or at least supremely intelligent suggestions as to where the answers might lie.

For those friends of mine who are / were in the live event production biz and are familiar with the 'riders' of performing acts, here is a freakishly strange one that happens to be common for this particular performer who's still touring and bouncing around the stage at the ripe old age of 71! Well, it's way past time for this wannabe to be gone. He's lied incessantly and caused more harm to the reputation of America in the past 2 years than any President in history and now, we can finally see him for what he is - and, come November, send him on his way. First, his 'business' is white-collar crime and, second, even when he clearly screws up, he refuses to take responsibility for it and, of course, tries to blame the very people who warned him what would happen. He is a clown and a criminal. After the election in November, when he is shown emphatically how much he has failed and is no longer wanted, the Mueller Hammer is going to come down. The next month should prove to be very interesting for those of us who have watched this imbecile disgrace our country, whip up greedy, uneducated, violent, and bigoted Americans into an unethical, irresponsible frenzy. His party will be voted out, he will be impeached, sent to prison and his 'business' will cease to exist. Therein lies karma worthy of a Greek Tragedy...

I always thought it was rather funny, while I was working at NASA, when people in my life would ask me if I believed in aliens. It was an interesting question when it hit my ears, but I think that many people are unaware of the duality of conversation - in that what is said and what is heard are not always understood on the same level. I worked (in a support role) with scientists from all over the world studying planetary ejecta/meteor impacts, biological analysis, astrophysics and a bunch of sometimes-integrated topics, had many friends in photography / video roles (including a colleague who was an Army soldier at Hitler's bunker and the Battle of the Bulge during WW2) as well as being a clerk for Technical Area Integration Management, which was basically supporting the dispensation of data after Shuttle Crews returned from space (a great chance to meet a lot of heroic astronauts), so I came in contact with a lot of data. I wasn't necessarily focused on 'alien life' but it, along with a lot of other subjects, were prevalent all over NASA...so I might have learned a few things. What would surprise a lot of people, I believe, is that these grey, bubble-headed or reptilian-like aliens that are all throughout Sci-Fi and so on...are probably the least likely form that alien life would resemble if we were to encounter it in science (the fact that we may already have still a matter of debate). We tend to forget that our air is primarily nitrogen (and oxygen), oceans are salt-water and Earth's crust is mostly soil made of eroded minerals but that, on another planet or in another environment, the atmosphere could be toxic (to humans) and made up of gases we cannot breathe, the seas may be boiling liquid ammonia and the surface could be made of diamonds and gravity could be minuscule or crushing in relation to our own. What kinds of life forms would we then be encountering, if that were the case? Maybe they would be cucumber-like slugs living at the bottom of a toxic sea or airborne, highly lethal, extremely durable creatures. Who knows? Maybe (and even more likely) they would just be mostly unobservable micro-organisms. But it certainly is interesting to think about! πŸ––πŸ˜Ž Here's an article that also might be interesting:

I'm looking forward to seeing this new take on an old film. I might not say much about actors / performers but I have to admit Bradley Cooper (in his directorial debut) is an impressive talent and even if I'm not much of a fan of Lady Gaga's music, she is indeed a talented artist (referring to art - not exclusively music) and I'm glad to see her finally reach the goal she initially set, but failed, and passed up for music - to be an actress. She says this isn't her (the natural look with original hair color and no make-up) since that isn't who she 'chooses to be', but I think it was a real smart move. It's a very deep and modernized telling of the original Streisand / Kristofferson version from 1976 and I think it's going to be a hit. πŸ˜‰ Check out the trailer:
