A very good article! However, I would add and advise others to keep in mind while reading that, we are FIRST human...and we are SECOND, members of culture. This is highly necessary and not negotiable. For those who place culture ahead of humanity, there are very dangerous consequences - such as doing things that are inhuman...in the promotion of cultural superiority. There is no such thing as a 'superior culture'. It is wise to remember that we are all walking works in progress. Whether or not we have arrived at an advanced development and/or understanding of our cultures, we are no better than others - provided they are given the same opportunity (which has historically not been the case). In fact, by minimizing, degrading or otherwise disrespecting others' cultures...regardless of their state of development...we have begun to diminish our own. There is nothing superior about that, whatsoever. :/
