Still one of my favorite musicians! "Vitalij Kuprij is a Ukrainian/American pianist, composer, and keyboardist in the neo-classical progressive metal bands Artension and Ring of Fire. In 2009 he joined the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Vitalij Kuprij has been the recipient of numerous awards, prizes and is much in demand as a soloist, recitalist, pianist and composer throughout the United States and abroad. He has played in many countries throughout the world." "Vitalij began his piano studies at Kiev’s Mykola Lysenko Music Academy where he studied with Professor Nina Najditsch. Unlike most classically trained musicians, Vitalij’s crossover capability into the neo-classical world evidences him as a leading force in alternative rock and musical exploration as we know it today. He has numerous albums out under the Shrapnel Records, Marquee Avalon, and Yamaha labels." Aaron Rosand is quoted as saying: “Vitalij Kuprij is one of the outstanding pianists of his generation. His charismatic style, technique, and personality are reminiscent of piano legends of a bygone era. I have not heard Chopin played this well since Rubenstein.”
