If there ever was a politician who, though partisan, was willing and able to reach across party lines in good faith and stand up for what he believed in, it was Sen. John McCain. I believe it is the epitome of political responsibility to give him credit for that alone, as it is so rare and needed in the modern day. He was every bit a patriot and a maverick. He was a man of action, whether or not it resulted in a high quality return which allowed him to learn and grow his entire life. It is unfortunate he is no longer in Congress but he has done the best with his time, despite struggle, and is well overdue for a rest. Rest In Peace, Sen. McCain. You certainly deserve it. Condolences to his family, as well.
