We're getting closer to having that 'giant eyeball' out in space, where we can see things a lot clearer! It's currently in Houston, at NASA's Johnson Space Center, where it will undergo its last cryogenic test at Chamber A (after some slight modifications), which was also used to test the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project's docking module, the Skylab space station's telescope mount and antennas for the Department of Defense. I always found it fascinating to stand inside the giant vacuum chamber - as well as learn about all the stuff they do there, while I was working on-site...back in the day. I linked another article after this one for those who are interested in it, too. There's some cool information there! ^_^
