It's a bit interesting (and fairly tragic) that Britain is, basically, going through very similar internal struggles that are very much a current, lingering issue in the US. I believe this is a sign that the world (rather than nations) is dividing into halves - the half that is hedonistic and self-important...and the half that is altruistic and virtuous. Apparently, a lot of Brits didn't know either and a large percentage of them had to Google 'EU' only AFTER voting to exit. Sounds a lot like the US Electorate to me.
