Sometimes, I just have to sit back and wonder who is doing more damage to America. Is it the people who are frightened and clueless who have never been out in the world, who have never driven past the Mall at the borderline of the city they grew up in, who have lived their entire lives inside the little 'bubbles' of their own communities. Is it these sheltered people who say the most foolish things because they are so unaware of the 'bigger world'...who say things while safe in their 'enclaves' that they don't worry about saying (or have to answer for) because they are so far removed from the reaction it causes - for now - but that cause others to want to come to their 'enclaves' and create terror (the very thing they are afraid of), things that they learned through the talking heads on TV who were put there to program them so they would fall in line with a government that is invading other countries for nefarious reasons and lying to their own people to gain their support (Iraq/South America/etc.)? Or is it 'the terrorists'? And who, exactly ARE the terrorists? Are they the people who react to being slaughtered in their own countries by an imperialistic government trying to 'spread democracy' or for the sake of preventing WMDs (a lie perpetuated by a US President named George Bush Jr.). Are they people who had their country invaded by people who set up a country within it (Israel), people who were slaughtered wholesale and begged for outside intervention during their time of need (the Holocaust) that have now turned around and become the slaughterers and who tell us that the people they slaughter are the real terrorists - even though they have become terrorists, themselves? Would we have believed the Nazis if they did this? I think not. It seems to me that we helped the Jews - who were being repressed by the Nazis - but now, we are turning our backs on everyone who is now becoming repressed. Are we the 'new Nazis'? It is all about cause & effect, folks. Sure, the people who have caused terror in the world have made a lot of mistakes - but so has everyone else, including great, historic, imperialistic nations. This is a human condition - not a 'terrorist' one. One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter, they say. Guerrilla warfare is nothing more than the evolution of revenge by the oppressed who do not have a standing army to force others to accept their will. Terrorism is a continuation of that evolution. As long as you have people doing wrong to others, there will always be victims looking for more and better ways to exact their revenge - whether they are huge nations with standing armies or a single human with a suicide vest on...and rest assured - the former is a lot easier to stop than the latter. If you want to be honest and understand truth, you have to know two things... First, you have to go back to the beginning to understand - all the things that happen and are happening...do so because of things that came before them. You cannot go back to the point in history that suits your narrative, religious 'flavor' or mental capacity (or the lack thereof) and start from there. It isn't honest or fair and it isn't going to address the problem correctly - it is going to make things worse. For example, if you go back 7 months, Israelis look like psychotic fascists...but if you go back 70 years, they look like victims. And second, you must understand that, despite the past, there will continue to be cause and effect, there will continue to be tit for tat, there will continue to be 'you murder me - I murder you'...until people start being fair and realistic, accept responsibility for their part in this ever-cycling battle of ignorance, pull their heads out of their collective asses and decide they want to live in a better, more peaceful world - start fresh and build something greater. You know, like the people who built and supported the great nation we now live in did...so long ago...and which we are destroying by allowing the world's issues to drag us back into that ever-cycling battle of ignorance. How about we start showing the world what made America strong again...and try not to end up like so many other failed nations that will never dig themselves out of the endless mess they repeatedly put themselves in? How about we stop putting ourselves in this situation by being foolish and dishonest to ourselves and others? I think that would be a great place to start...
