An excellently-written article... While it is humane and wise to include all nations and people within a framework that will benefit all inhabitants of Earth in the future, it is also wise to analyze each participant’s strategy for its integrity. We disregard this at our peril. Often, negligent / unethical intent or double standards are clearly at play and visible to those equipped and properly guided on where and how to look. Every company, culture, religion, nation or group is guilty and all are suspect, but this isn’t necessarily true on an individual basis. There are good people and bad people worldwide. They are often the ones who contribute to the failure / success of their group. I suspect the problem is when we separate into nations, groups, races, cultures, political parties and even sports teams, we begin to lose focus of the priority - and then, the priority changes - because WE lost focus...not because the priority changed. The priority is all of us - not just our sub- group. I notice often how nations, businesses, religions and even cultures have suppressed and marginalized their own people, something regularly done in China and, sadly, even more frequently in America. So I hope people will develop the skill of, first, having integrity and knowing there is only ‘one group’ (all of us), then learning to evaluate other groups - and their included individuals - for integrity. Those who fail to meet the criteria for integrity should be isolated and scrutinized. To all those People who thought their leadership choice in 2016 would improve America, those business people from the West who catered to authoritarian rule in China just to make a buck - while empowering a potential global threat, and other self-seeking opportunists who do not have the right priorities in mind, there will always be people like us out here who do have proper focus and will make sure every group that lacks integrity, deals in double standards and sacrifices others to benefit themselves fails until there is only one group - one priority. the only group that matters - all humans because, if you aren’t going to be loyal to all other humans, maybe you aren’t one. Maybe you don’t deserve to be one. You’re going to quickly run out of options. Maybe people will learn something from this very good analysis of China’s (government’s) ‘true’ global intentions and, remember, your ‘group’ may not be any better... If it isn’t - then be the individual who makes it better. 😊

Liza Tobin unpacks what, precisely, this vision entails and what it might mean for the United States and its allies.
