A blessing and a curse! Like all things, there are two sides... On one hand, we will eliminate the members of society who lack intelligence by networking a collective intelligence. There are opposing opinions - one being that the lazy will benefit while contributing little or nothing initially and those who worked hard to achieve intelligence will 'offload' their hard work for nothing to a 'collective' comprised of many who may be undeserving - but not all those opinions are solidly founded, since many may not be lazy underachievers but are, rather, those who were denied the opportunity. That is something this achievement will remedy. On the other hand, we will be, basically, giving up our individuality which, although it may be important, unique and personal, has led to countless tragedies, such as war, intolerance, hatred, envy, unhealthy competition, misunderstanding, miscommunication and so many others. I guess we will have to wait and see what happens...

I guess we will have to wait and see what happens... - At the SXSW Conference in Austin, Texas, Ray Kurzweil made yet another prediction: the technological singularity will happen sometime in the next 30 years.
